Elsternwick is a suburb of Melbourne located just 9 kilometres southeast of the city’s CBD. This suburb is bounded by the Nepean Highway, Elster Avenue, Kooyong Road, Glen Eira Road and Hotham Street. There are a number of parks and gardens in the suburb including Elsternwick Park and the Elsternwick Park Golf Club that are available for residents and tourists to enjoy. Elsternwick has a rich history and in Hotham Street, Elsternwick you can find one of the finest grand suburban estates in Australia, the Rippon Lea Estate, located just 20 minutes from the city’s CBD. Here you can find sweeping lawns with magnificent trees, an orchard with varieties of heritage apples and pears, and a tranquil lake. People can come and spend a day or an afternoon of relaxation and enjoyment here.

Elsternwick has a park in Seymour Road that features an all abilities playground. It is a popular destination for family picnics. Facilities for family barbecues can be found here and also a picnic shelter. Hopetoun Gardens at the corner of Victoria Street and Glenhuntly Rd is a nineteenth century garden surrounded by magnificent trees.

The Jewish Holocaust Museum and Research Centre located at 13-15 Selwyn St. is an institution founded and dedicated to the memory of millions of Jews murdered by the Nazis during the last World War. The Museum and Research Centre has been an Australian landmark over the years.
